ELIJAH TAYLOR RUGBY LEAGUE CURRENT PINNACLE ATHLETE Elijah Taylor, aged 20, is a professional rugby league player with the NZ Warriors. He is valued as as a back rower, standoff or centre. A rep rugby union player in his school years, Elijah converted to league in his mid-teens and came through the Warriors Juniors system, captaining that team in the Toyota Cup in 2009. He was named Young Player of the Year in 2008 and Player of the Year in 2009. He won the Club’s inaugural Sonny Fai Medal. Born in Taranaki and raised in Northland, Elijah now lives in Auckland. The NZ Warriors are based at Mt Smart Stadium. As well as his fulltime role at the Warriors, Elijah is studying part-time to become a personal trainer. Elijah is the first Pinnacle athlete from a team sport, although Storm Uru and Peter Taylor row as a ‘team’ double in what is essentially and individual sport. |
